Program Partner
The Need
Our youth community benefits from increasing their knowledge of financial matters so they can become better stewards, responsible savers, investors, and consumers. Our focus is to improve their financial acumen; prioritize personal money management goals; & understand tradeoffs between personal consumption and delayed gratification.
The Impact
Our community has benefited from the partnership with Literacy Institute for Financial Enrichment (L.I.F.E) and the participation from our youth in the Youth Savings and Investment Club (YIC) over the past several years. We sponsored “Debt Free For Thee” Workshops for Teens that focused on Values and Goal setting, Savings and Budgeting, Credit and Debt Management and Entrepreneurship/Careers.
I didn’t know why it was important to save money, but I now know saved money can grow if you invest it, instead of spending it.
